Come join us for the first "Build a Chair" event! The Chair City MAKERspace is launching pop up maker events this fall in Thomasville as a catalyst to fuel the creative energy and build upon the strong tradition of craftmanship that our community is known for. Participants will be provided a kit of pre-cut and pre-drilled chair parts and then be led step by step on the construction of their very own farmhouse chair to take home. The chairs are made of Bolivian Poplar and look great either painted or stained. The kits have been made by members of the Thomasville High School Craftsman Guild and all the proceeds from the event fund their trips to state and national competitions. The chair making will be led by the high school carpentry instructor and his students. There are openings for 12 chairs to be made - 6 spots at 9 am and 6 spots at 11:30 am.
